Breaking the Grid
The challenge was to design a magazine that visually embodied rebellion without losing control. STATIC needed to balance chaos and clarity—expressing the spirit of underground fashion through bold typography, layered compositions, and raw textures while still guiding the reader through a coherent visual narrative.
Designing Controlled Chaos
I built a modular grid that allowed structure to coexist with disruption. Each spread used layered textures, distorted type, and contrasting color fields to create visual tension, while consistent margins and typographic systems maintained flow. The result was a design language that felt loud, tactile, and intentional—where every imperfection served the concept.
A Visual Rebellion Realized
STATIC became more than a magazine—it was a study in how design can translate attitude. By blending editorial precision with underground aesthetics, the final piece captures the tension between polish and grit, order and expression. Every page reflects the energy of DIY culture, proving that rebellion can be designed with purpose.
