Macropolis.
Macropolis is a conceptual mac and cheese brand that transforms comfort food into a world of playful imagination. Each flavor—like Truffle Midnight Mountain and Pesto Greenland—exists as its own illustrated “world,” blending bold color, custom typography, and dynamic packaging forms. The project explores how storytelling and structural design can elevate a simple product into an immersive brand experience.

Turning Comfort Food Into a Brand World
The challenge was to reinvent a familiar grocery item with a new sense of excitement and identity. The packaging needed to stand out on shelves while maintaining functionality and cohesion across multiple flavors. The goal was to merge storytelling, structure, and illustration into one cohesive system that felt imaginative yet professional.
Building Worlds Through Design
I created a six-sided carton structure inspired by the volume of traditional mac and cheese boxes, then developed custom illustrations and color palettes for each flavor world. Every element—from logo placement to flavor naming—was designed to evoke discovery and character, encouraging consumers to “collect” each flavor like part of a universe.
Playful Design, Serious Craft
Macropolis redefines how packaging can tell a story. By merging illustration, structure, and brand identity, the final design transforms a common pantry staple into a collector’s experience—proof that even the most nostalgic foods can live in a world built by imagination and design precision.
