The design translates the building’s sculptural form into type—turning architectural rhythm into visual language. Translating Architecture Into Motion
The challenge was to design a poster that captured both the elegance and dynamism of Bayside Worthing’s architecture while communicating a sense of public excitement. It needed to function as a large-scale display piece—visible from afar yet detailed enough to reward closer viewing. The goal was to mirror the structure’s vertical energy and coastal fluidity using nothing but type, composition, and hierarchy.
Type as Structure
I constructed the building form entirely from distorted typography, manipulating perspective and rhythm to mimic its stacked, wave-like architecture. The navy and cream palette referenced coastal tones while maintaining urban sophistication. Fine linework reinforced the illusion of structure, and precise alignment grounded the composition, echoing the building’s balance between engineering and elegance.
