57' Chevy.
This digital illustration of a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air was commissioned for an office installation. The project reimagines an American classic through bold color, precision, and form—capturing the timeless craftsmanship of mid-century automotive design. The artwork was created as a three-angle composition, showcasing the car’s profile, front, and rear perspectives in vivid, hand-rendered detail.

Capturing Classic Design with Modern Tools
The challenge was to translate a physical icon into digital illustration while preserving the chrome reflections, depth, and character that define 1950s automotive style. The piece needed to feel realistic and energetic, suitable for large-scale office display, yet maintain an illustrative warmth that celebrated craftsmanship and nostalgia.
Precision Meets Personality
I used layered digital painting techniques to recreate the car’s polished metal, tinted glass, and red enamel surfaces. Careful lighting and reflection studies gave each view depth and realism, while clean vector outlines maintained clarity for print. The composition highlights the Bel Air’s signature tail fins, emblem, and chrome detailing—every curve drawn to honor the era’s spirit of innovation.
An Icon Reimagined
The final triptych celebrates the ’57 Chevy as both art and artifact. Through intentional color, line, and reflection, the piece bridges design and nostalgia—transforming a symbol of motion into a static work that still feels alive.
